Joseph Garrett, a.k.a Stampy Cat, is one Minecraft’s most well-known gamers and now he has two Guinness World Records titles to his name.

Guinness World Records.

The 27-year-old has set a new record for the Fastest time to make and display 10 cakes in Minecraft (PC Edition) with a time of 3 minutes 51 seconds to go with his record for Most viewed Terraria video (9,593,008 views as of 24 April).

“I was so excited when I heard that Guinness World Records wanted me to be involved with Gamer’s Edition 2019 as I am literally obsessed with video games! If I am not playing them, I am making videos with them or watching them being played online. Seeing as this book is all about celebrating the most incredible achievements across all of gaming, I am so glad that I was chosen to introduce it.

I think the thing I love most about video games is how they are always changing. There are new TV shows, films and books every year but you always enjoy them in the same way, no matter when they were made.

Videogames however are always re-inventing themselves as technology improves and the developers have cool new ideas. If you told an eight-year-old version of me that was playing his Gameboy after school that in 20 years people would be playing games online against opponents from all over the world while wearing a virtual reality headset I probably wouldn’t believe you.

Because of the rapid evolution in gaming the types of records that are possible expand each year. It’s not all about getting a high score or beating a game quickly, there are so many ways to play games and be creative with what you do in their virtual worlds. Because of this there are near endless opportunities to break unique records or do something no-one else has done before”.
